23 Jumpin’

The Commerce @ Irving is a new building in the Tai Seng area where quaint cafes have been popping up. Heard about 23 Jumpin’ and decided to go check it out on a weekday night.

Singapore Cafe | 23 Jumpin

Creamy Mushroom and Bacon Pasta

High quality white buttons, bacon, topped with grated parmesan cheese

Price: $12

Pasta serving was just nice, amidst all the cheese and creamy goodness, so it was not too overwhelming. Wouldn’t say it was a fantastic dish, but good enough for its price.

Bangers & Mash

Bratwurst sausage, real mashed potato, onion brown sauce

Price: $8

Pretty small serving of one bratwurst sausage cut up and placed atop a bed of mashed potatoes, drenched in onion brown sauce. But it’s only $8 so I would think it’s worth it, just probably not enough for sharing. Sausage was juicy and tasty, and mashed potatoes was a good complement to the savoury brown sauce.

23 Jumpin Truffle Fries

Truffle Fries

Fries, truffle oil and bits, topped with parmesan cheese

Price: $12

Fries were served piping hot and fresh, truffle taste was pretty significant. Was the best dish we ordered! Pretty addictive as we could not stop helping ourselves to the shoestring fries laden with truffle.

23 Jumpin Mushroom Pizza Waffle

Mushroom Pizza Waffle

Classic Belgian waffle, savoury high quality white buttons, covered with mozzarella’s love

Price: $14

Supposedly the signature dish of the café, but was somewhat disappointing. Waffle was soft underneath the pizza topping. Topping was pretty mushy, and waffle should have been at least a little crispy to hold it all up, but it was not.

23 Jumpin’ is a small café, with kitchen separated with only a curtain, so you will end up smelling like a pot of oil if you dine in. There is limited outdoor seating (only two seats maybe?), but didn’t look very inviting. Lighting in café was pretty dim too. We would probably drop by again for the Honey Paprika Wings, pity it was sold out when we were there!
