The salted egg yolk croissant fever is catching on quick in Singapore thanks to Flavour Fling, Antoinette, Black & Ink. . . Bridge being enterprising and not wanting to be left out, launched their own Salted Egg Lava Croissant and Truffle Custard Croissant on 5th Feb 2016.
We gave it a try and here are our thoughts:
We were pretty excited seeing how the salted egg was oozing out of the croissant which reminded us of our favourite Liu Sha Bao.
The moment we tore the croissant apart, we became pretty disappointed with the amount of salted egg custard in the croissant. It did not ooze out as smoothly as lava would.
Not particularly wowed by this dish. We personally find that the taste was only so-so and that the salted egg yolk was overpowered by the buttery croissant.
