Few years ago, we went to Hong Kong for a vacation and travelled through mountains and seas just to get to sink our teeth into one of Tai Cheong Bakery’s egg tarts. Their egg tarts have been locally and globally recognised as the best in Hong Kong since decades ago! We were at the branch at 35 Lyndhurst Terrace, somewhere in the Central region of Hong Kong Island.
Opened in August 2015 by 3 passionate pastry professionals, Churn Creamery Singapore is quite the underdog (for now at least). We understand from the founders of Churn Creamery that the key ingredient for their gelato is mainly milk instead of cream, allowing a less sinful guilty pleasure. And judging from their display, they sure have a good selection of gelato with a number of unique flavours.
Dessert Project’s Nutella Toast, just two minutes away from the famous Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh @ Havelock Road was the first place we thought of on a hot Sunday afternoon. Facing the road, place was easy to spot. We got ourselves the Nutella Thick Toast, Lemon Mint Crush ice-cream cone and Thai Iced Tea ice-cream cone for starters.
